A password notebook is not a security policy

The server admin password is in an Excel file, the firewall password in an email, the database password in a former employee’s memory. Even in a five-person IT team, shared passwords scatter over time. No one dares to change them, because no one knows what will break.

ManageEngine Password Manager Pro is enterprise password management software that gathers the privileged passwords teams share into a single encrypted vault, rotates them regularly and logs every access.

What does Password Manager Pro do?

Brings passwords together in one vault

Server, network device, database and application passwords are organised in folders. Existing records can be imported from a file, from KeePass or from Active Directory. Users sign in with their Active Directory or Entra ID accounts.

Rotates passwords automatically

In the Premium and Enterprise editions, passwords are reset on the target system immediately, on a schedule or in response to an event. Passwords in dependent places such as Windows service accounts and IIS application pools can also be updated, reducing the risk of a service failing after a change.

Logs who sees what

Every password view, copy and change is logged. In the Premium and Enterprise editions, an approval workflow can be defined for critical passwords: the password is released only after a manager approves it, and only for a set period.

Connects directly from the vault

Users can open RDP or SSH sessions without seeing the password. In the Premium and Enterprise editions, these sessions are recorded.

Password Manager Pro with Unna

Password Manager Pro is the right starting point for IT teams whose main need is to bring order to shared passwords. If you need just-in-time privileges, endpoint privilege management or behavioural analytics, we talk about PAM360.

  1. We listen first. Together we map out where passwords are kept today, who knows them and which systems depend on one another.
  2. We plan together. We determine the right edition and number of administrators, and design the folder and permission structure around your team structure.
  3. We install and deploy. We move passwords into the vault, trial automatic rotation on non-critical accounts first, then roll it out more widely.
  4. We stay by your side. We review access reports with you and verify that passwords known by people who have left the company have been changed.

Part of the whole

  • On the identity and access management page, we compare PAM360, Password Manager Pro and Access Manager Plus.
  • When your needs grow, the migration path to PAM360 is open.
  • By vaulting the admin passwords of FortiGate and other network devices too, the most critical gateways of the network come under control.
  • In ISO 27001 and KVKK (Turkey’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698) compliance work, access logs provide concrete evidence that privileged access is controlled.
  • Keeping the admin password of your Veeam backup system separate from the production environment and in the vault also protects your backups against ransomware.

Frequently asked questions

Which edition is right for us?

Standard if you only need the vault and sharing. Premium if you want automatic password rotation and session recording. Enterprise if you need privileged account discovery, two-factor authentication via RADIUS and a REST API.

If the Password Manager Pro vault goes down, will we lose access to our passwords?

The Premium and Enterprise editions support a high-availability setup. We also take regular encrypted backups of the vault and plan emergency access.
