Running an email server is not your job
In a small or medium-sized business, the email server often rests on one person’s shoulders. Updates, certificate renewals, full disks, IP addresses landing on blacklists. When emails stop going out one morning, finding the cause takes hours, and quotations and orders wait in the meantime.
Unna Business Mail is a hosted email service that works with your domain and whose infrastructure is operated by Unna. You use your mailboxes; we manage the server side.
What does Unna Business Mail do?
Sets up authentication from the start
SPF, DKIM and DMARC records are configured for your domain when the service is activated. Receiving servers can verify that email really comes from you, and it becomes harder for your domain to be used in spoofed messages.
Encrypts connections
Connections between email clients and the server are encrypted with SSL/TLS. When an employee connects from café Wi-Fi outside the office, their password and emails do not travel in plain text.
Runs distributed to withstand outages
The service runs on virtualised servers at more than one location. This prevents a single hardware failure from bringing down all mailboxes.
Accessible from any device
You work with webmail in the browser, with Outlook on the desktop and with the built-in email apps on phones and tablets. You can run detailed searches across sent and received emails.
Managed from a single panel
Mailboxes, quotas, users and usage are monitored and managed from a single administration panel. You do not need to open a support ticket to create an address for a new starter.
Business Mail with Unna
- We listen first. We review your number of users, mailbox sizes, the devices you use and your current email provider.
- We plan together. We determine your quota needs, the migration schedule and the order of DNS changes.
- We migrate and go live. We migrate your old emails and folders, and leave the DNS switchover until last. We help your users set up Outlook and their phones.
- We stay by your side. We follow up delivery issues, user requests and findings from DMARC reports with you.
Part of the whole
- On our business email page, we compare the hosted service with options that run on your own server.
- If you want to keep email on your own infrastructure, SmarterMail may be a better fit.
- With MailStore, we keep a separate, immutable archive of your emails.
- Endpoint security adds a second layer on the computer side against malicious attachments and phishing links arriving by email.
Frequently asked questions
Will we be unable to receive email during migration?
No, you will keep receiving it. The old and new systems run side by side for a while, emails are synchronised and the DNS records are changed last.
Our domain is registered with another company. Is that a problem?
No. Your domain can stay wherever it is registered; only the email-related DNS records need to be updated. We tell you step by step which records will change.
Will a DMARC record stop our emails from being delivered?
Not when it is set up correctly. We start with a reporting-only policy and tighten it after identifying all the systems that send from your domain.
