The network gateway is where security begins
Every point where your company connects to the internet is a door: head office, branches, production areas, guest Wi-Fi, staff connecting from home. The firewall’s job is to recognise the traffic passing through these doors, stop what is harmful and let legitimate traffic through without slowing it down.
Network security is about more than choosing a device. Sizing the device correctly, keeping rules simple, turning logs into meaningful reports and meeting legal logging obligations all need to be addressed together. That is why our solutions in this area are not a single product but a structure whose parts complement one another.
Which solution for which need?
We work with more than one firewall brand. This means we recommend not a product, but the solution that fits your needs.
FortiGate
A wide model range, built-in SD-WAN, and an ecosystem that can run under a single management layer with Fortinet components such as switches and wireless access points. A strong choice for multi-branch organisations and businesses that want to enable their full range of security services on a single device. Explore FortiGate.
WatchGuard Firebox
A family that stands out for security services offered in bundles, cloud-based central management and complementary products such as authentication. For teams that want to keep management simple. Explore WatchGuard.
Ruijie
A cost-effective option for organisations that want to build the firewall together with Ruijie switches and wireless products as an end-to-end network. Explore Ruijie.
What complements the firewall
- Unna Controller: Our in-house platform. It manages multiple FortiGates from a single screen, takes a configuration backup every night and runs automatic security checks; it provides hotspot and 5651 logging in the same place.
- Firewall Analyzer: Turns logs from firewalls of different brands into reports and helps simplify rules.
- 5651 logging: Meets the logging obligation of businesses that provide internet access with a timestamped archive.
Network security with Unna
- We listen first. We look at your number of users, your lines, your branch structure, your guest network and how your current device is actually used.
- We plan together. We size the brand and model so that they cope even with security services enabled. We design the rule structure, network segments and VPN scenarios.
- We install and commission. We schedule the cutover outside working hours, migrate and simplify the old rules, and bring reporting and logging compliance into service from day one.
- We stay by your side. Updates, licence renewals, configuration backups and periodic security checks remain with us after installation too.
Part of the whole
- Once the network gateway is protected, the next step is devices and data: endpoint and data security.
- We bring who accesses which system under control with identity and access management.
- We monitor the devices behind the firewall with network and server monitoring.
- If an attack cannot be prevented, backup keeps the way back open.
Frequently asked questions
Which brand is better?
Each is strongest in different scenarios. The right answer depends on your number of users, your branch structure, the security services you want to enable, your existing network equipment and your budget. Because we work with more than one brand, we can make this decision impartially.
Do we have to replace our current firewall?
No. We usually start by assessing the rules, licences and capacity of your existing device. If the device meets your needs, improving the configuration and completing the reporting and logging side may be enough.
We have several branches. How are they managed?
We set up encrypted tunnels between branches and bring the devices under central management. In FortiGate environments, Unna Controller lets you monitor the backups, firmware versions and security status of all devices from a single screen.
