Which quote was sent in a dispute, which approval was given in an audit, what a former employee discussed with which customer. Much of this information exists only in email. Emails deleted when mailboxes fill up, closed when an employee leaves or deleted by mistake are lost from the company’s memory.
Email archiving is different from backup. A backup is for restoring a system; an archive keeps a separate, tamper-proof and searchable copy of every email for the long term.
What does MailStore do?
Archives every email
It automatically archives incoming and outgoing email from Microsoft 365, Exchange, Google Workspace and all email systems that use IMAP or POP into a central archive. Existing PST files and old mailboxes can also be added to the archive.
Finds it in seconds
Full-text search covers both the content of emails and their attachments. Users access their own archives through an Outlook add-in or a web interface.
Takes the load off the mail server
Old archived emails can be removed from mailboxes. Mailboxes shrink, and the mail server and its backups become lighter.
Complies with the rules
Retention policies define how long emails are kept. The archive is stored in a way that allows you to verify its content has not been altered afterwards.

What happens to a former employee’s emails?
Even if the mailbox is closed, the emails remain in the archive. An authorised person can access this correspondence when needed.
