Don’t keep your backup in the same building
A backup on an external disk or an office NAS is a good start. But in events such as fire, flooding, theft or ransomware, that backup can be lost along with the main system. Keeping a copy of your data at a different location is a precondition for being able to recover.
UnnaBulut is Unna’s own cloud service. Your data stays in our own data centre in Turkey and is not transferred abroad. From installation to restore, you deal with the same team: when you have a problem, you reach engineers who know your systems, not a call centre.

BackupBox: full image backup
It backs up the entire disk of Windows computers, physical servers and VMware or Hyper-V virtual machines. Full, incremental and differential backups run automatically as scheduled jobs. In the event of a failure, you can restore the system to another disk, to other hardware or from the cloud; with a bootable USB drive, recovery onto a bare machine is possible.
Smart Backup: files, email and databases
For those who want to back up specific data rather than the whole system. Files and folders, Outlook PST files, and MsSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL and Firebird databases are automatically backed up to the cloud from Windows and macOS.
DocSafe: the team’s shared file space
A cloud workspace where teams keep their files in one place, with permissions set at folder level. Documents can be edited collaboratively with online office apps in the browser. It can be accessed from anywhere via Windows, macOS and Android apps.
Infrastructure
All services run on S3-compatible object storage infrastructure operating in our own data centre in Turkey. Data is stored encrypted. The infrastructure runs with redundant firewalls, uninterruptible power supplies and a generator, and redundant internet connections, and is monitored 24/7.
UnnaBulut with Unna
- We listen first. We determine what needs to be backed up, how much data there is and how quickly you need to be back up and running after a failure.
- We plan together. We answer the question of full image, data-level backup or both, and set the storage capacity and backup schedule.
- We install and test. We install the backup agents, take the first backup and hand over the system with a restore test.
- We stay by your side. We monitor failed backups, let you know before capacity runs out and carry out restores with you when needed.
Part of the whole
- UnnaBulut is the cloud arm of our backup offering. We can use UnnaBulut as the target for the off-site copy of local backups we set up with Veeam or Acronis.
- Endpoint security tries to prevent ransomware; UnnaBulut provides the way back when it cannot be prevented.

Frequently asked questions
Where is our data kept?
In our own data centre in Turkey, encrypted. Keeping backups inside Turkey simplifies the assessment of cross-border transfers of personal data under KVKK (Turkey’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698). We recommend confirming your own situation with your legal adviser.
BackupBox or Smart Backup?
BackupBox if you want to bring a system back exactly as it was after a failure. Smart Backup if you only want to protect specific files, email archives or databases. For critical servers, we often recommend both together.
Is our internet speed sufficient?
The first full backup can be large; subsequent backups send only the data that has changed. We schedule the first backup outside working hours and set a bandwidth limit to suit your connection.
Can DocSafe replace our file server?
For small and medium-sized teams, often yes. For teams that need access to files from outside the office and permission control, it offers a more flexible setup than a file server.
